According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Anuttama Amornvivat, this special entity will operate similarly to a public organization and will be led by a director, whose position is equivalent to that of a ministerial permanent secretary. All operations will be carried out under the system of single command by two committees headed by the Prime Minister. The first panel will comprise representatives from all ministries while the second will focus on the management of the organization.
This special entity will be set up to supervise the water management system as well as deal with other water-related disasters. It will also serve as an intermediary in negotiations with the public on relevant issues.
The Cabinet expressed confidence that this special entity, once established, will be capable of handling any future crisis.
