We had to make our way through the “blue city” of Jodhpur to catch a train to Jaisalmer. After an 7 hour overnight bus ride, we had about 12 hours to kill before having to catch the train.
Jodhpur is Rajasthan’s second biggest city. Its called the “blue city” because most of the houses in the old town have a blue tint to them. Like all big cities in Rajasthan, Jodhpur has a big fort. This one is high above the city and overlooks the blue houses of the old city below. Very impressive.
To be honest Jodhpur was originally a place I wanted to spend a couple of days in, but after a few hours there I didn’t like it that much. Other then the fort, there wasn’t much I wanted to see. So after having a good lunch at a local restaurant and sitting at a internet cafe for a bit we were off to the train station. 12 hours overnight to the desert town of Jaisalmer now awaits!
