Bikaner, India>, Nov 15, 2009
Well sometimes the sequel is better than the original movie, like Godfather part 2, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Raj! Ok maybe not that last one ;). Bikaner was our second short pitstop on our way out of Rajasthan North to Punjab, from Jaisalmer to Amritsar.
Here we met up with a local named Saddam Hussein! Yup, I guess he is still alive and kicking. Saddam wanted to practice some English and for us having a local to take us around (for free!) is always appreciated. Emile, Saddam and I took a whirlwind tour of the backstreets of Bikaner, spice markets, 400-year-old havelis, and the old town. Unlike the first pitstop, this time around I got some good photos and actually enjoyed the place
Soon we said goodbye to Saddam and headed off to the bus station for our 14 hour bus ride to Amritsar, Punjab, home of the famous Golden Temple. I can’t wait!
