Around 2 pm we arrived at the Jain temple in Osian. We walked a little and found the entrance to the temple. Of course a lot of people where begging for money and also guides wanted to help us explaining everything about the temple. Again we didn’t want a guide. At the entrance we left our shoes and walked up the stairs.
The Osiyan Jain temple is 2500 years old. It is build in
creamy sandstone. It has freestanding pillars and fantastic
sculptures. This temple has been restored with care, without using cement or iron. The only
materials used for the restoration were those used in the original construction.
Of course there was a guy who showed us the whole temple, but he wasn’t asked by us. It is allowed to take pictures all over the temple. No extra costs. We stayed there till 3:30 and left again. We still hadn’t time for lunch, so now we went to a place where we had our lunch, this was included with the trip. It was at restaurant “The camel camp Osian”. We arrived and a butler took us to our chairs. It was a 10 minute walk! But it has a beautifully surrounding. At 4 we left again and passed a very expensive hotel: The Umaid Bhawan Palace.
We arrived at our hotel and we got a very big room. A king size bed, a living room, and a huge bathroom with hot water! For the first time. And from our balcony we saw a beautiful pool! Also the first. So we went for a swim! This was gorgeous after a long time in the car. We changed and had dinner in the restaurant this evening. The food was very good and after a drink and writing in my diary we went to bed.
