This is probably one of the most authentic sport event in the entire world. I used to listen to the live radio commentaries of this event during my childhood days. The commentators literally used to scream on air and I could never understand why were they going crazy.. until I decided to go and experience it myself. Believe me or not, this is a unique boat race event and you should come down here once. I wish the oraganizers does a better job providing facilities and security for spectators especially visitors to my home land. This is a show event though that happens on teh second saturday of August every year. But the true races too happen around this time of the year.
