pBy the end of February, free WiFi Internet access will be available along the entire stretch of Pattaya Beach. In the beginning it will offered free to everyone for the first three months of the project, then local officials will decide how to administer the service. The new alliance between Pattaya City and TOT was created in honor of His Majesty the King’s 81st birthday in December. /p
pWireless Internet service is already in place around the Bali Hai Pier, extending in a perimeter of 1.5kms. This service began on 25 December to support Pattaya’s huge New Year festival. pTOT has already begun installing the signal units on light posts along the beach. The first stage will run 3kms along the beach area, and the second stage will run from the Walking Street to the Bali Hai Pier. Initial feedback from users of the Bali Hai Pier WiFi zone have been very positive. After the initial three-month free period, TOT will decide how to charge for using the WiFi service, probably through the sale of time cards. /p
