pA young girl in the town of Sattahip near Pattaya who has the appearance and behavior of a monkey has become something of a celebrity in her hometown. Born two months premature, Nong Pin was born with deformities that happened to resemble the features of a monkey./p
pHer family believes that she was born this way as a result of karma from her grandfather’s activities in the past. One her second birthday, Nong Pin was taken to a local monk who is quite famous to be dedicated to him as his daughter. On the way home from the temple that day, Nong Pin began to slowly sit up, then stand, and finally walk upright for the first time. /p
pEveryone regarded this to be a miracle given by the monk, who explained that her grandfather once hunted animals in his youth. He killed countless monkeys and the family believes that this is karma making amends. The child’s entire family and the community love Nong Pin very much, as she’s an extremely affable child. /p
pShe certainly acts like a monkey, unable to sit still and swinging from anything she can get a hold of. Her family has sworn never to take a life again, and believe she was born to serve as a living example of the power of karma./p
